Travel Steam Iron
If you do a lot of traveling, you'll want a travel steam iron. These types of irons are small, very portable and light.
As the name suggests, it is made for people who travel a lot but want to keep their clothes smooth. It’s user friendly and very light, so it won’t add too much to your travel weight. You can apparently use a travel steam iron on almost any fabric and it won’t burn them either. You can use almost any surface to iron your clothes on. Your bed could even do in a pinch. It should have a dual voltage feature, which means it’ll work wherever you go.
You must do your research thoroughly because many travel steam irons don't live up to even normal expectations. I find that going through the reviews on online vendor's sites to help a lot when selecting a product, especially one like this.
There are times when a travel steam iron won't do the job. Face it, if you have an elegant dress or business suit that wound up twisted among your shoes in the suitcase, then let a professional press it as you'll be sorely disappointed by a travel steam iron's efforts.
The problem with making a travel version of anything is that you have to sacrifice something and this appears to have sacrificed some effectiveness. For smaller jobs, spot wrinkles, etc. a travel steam iron will help in a pinch. For large jobs, you'll need your normal clothes iron.
